Dragon Ball Super’s new key art features Cell Max.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero has revealed a much better look at this new Cell Max in some beautiful new key art honouring the movie’s run through theatres! Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero officially brought Cell back into the fold with a monstrous new makeover for its latest feature film! The first new Dragon Ball Super anime in four long years debuted, and just like the last movie, the new characters and events introduced some exciting new potential future directions. However, there were also a few unexpectedly familiar characters, as Cell was reintroduced into the action at the film’s conclusion.

It was a very different kind of return for Cell than fans had anticipated, though, since the new monster was far different from the personality and flair that fans had grown to adore in the villain’s original version, even though it did look and act somewhat like the old Dragon Ball Z villain. Instead, this new “Cell Max” was a kaiju-sized monster that obliterated everything in its path before Gohan and Piccolo united to defeat the main antagonist by the end of the film. A detailed look at Cell Max’s new design can now be seen on the official Dragon Ball Super Twitter, which you can see below.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is currently playing in theatres all throughout North America and other international regions if you wanted to witness Cell Max in action. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have teased the film as to what to expect. “Son Goku once defeated the Red Ribbon Army. The ultimate Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, were made by those who uphold its spirit. “Super Heroes” is how these two Androids refer to themselves. They begin to assault Piccolo and Gohan. What is the goal of the New Red Ribbon Army? It’s time for you, Super Hero, to awaken in the face of impending danger!”
